Assignment 1: Weekly Schedule Table

Objective: Practice creating and formatting tables to display a weekly schedule.

Detailed Steps:

1.   Create a New Slide:

o    Open PowerPoint and either create a new presentation or open an existing one.

o    Click on the slide where you want to add the table or add a new slide by selecting New Slide from the Home tab.

2.   Insert a Table:

o    Navigate to the Insert tab on the Ribbon at the top.

o    Click on Table and a grid will appear.

o    Choose 5 columns and 4 rows to represent five days (Monday to Friday) and time slots for activities (morning, afternoon, evening).

3.   Enter Data in the Table:

o    Click inside each cell to type in your activity for that day and time slot. For example, you might enter “Class” under Monday morning, “Study” under Monday afternoon, etc.

4.   Format the Table:

o    After you’ve added your data, go to the Table Design tab.

o    Choose a Table Style (predefined styles are available, offering different colors and borders).

o    Use the Shading option to color-code different activities for easy visual reference (e.g., study sessions in blue, gym sessions in green).

5.   Add a Title for the Table:

o    At the top of the slide, insert a text box by going to Insert > Text Box and type “My Weekly Schedule.”

o    Format this title using the Home tab to make it bold or change its font size.

Deliverable: Submit a slide containing a formatted table of your weekly schedule, with clearly labeled columns and rows, a descriptive title, and appropriate use of colors to enhance readability.

1.   Define Your Budget Data:

o    Decide on budget categories (e.g., Rent, Groceries, Transportation, Entertainment, Savings).

o    Estimate how much you spend in each category monthly. For example: Rent - $500, Groceries - $200, etc.

2.   Create a New Slide:

o    Add a new slide where you’ll place your chart.

3.   Insert a Pie Chart:

o    Go to the Insert tab, then click on Chart.

o    In the dialog box, select Pie from the chart options and click OK.

4.   Input Your Data:

o    A small Excel window will open with sample data. Replace this with your budget data. For instance, replace “Category 1” with “Rent” and enter $500 in the adjacent cell.

5.   Customize the Chart:

o    Use the Chart Design tab to explore different pie chart styles.

o    Add data labels to each pie slice by clicking on Add Chart Element > Data Labels > Outside End to show percentages for each category.

6.   Add a Chart Title:

1.   Gather Your Data:

2.   Create a New Slide:

o    Insert a new slide to place your fitness progress chart.

3.   Insert a Line Chart:

o    Go to Insert > Chart > Line.

o    Click OK to add a line chart to your slide.

4.   Enter Fitness Data:

o    Enter your months in the first column and hours exercised in the second column of the Excel sheet.

5.   Customize the Line Chart:

o    Use the Chart Design tab to select a style that includes markers on data points.

o    Customize line color using the Format tab (e.g., a blue line with round markers for each month).

o    Highlight the highest sales figures in bold or use a different color to make them stand out.

3.   Insert a Bar Chart:

o    On the same slide, or a new slide, go to Insert > Chart > Bar.

o    Choose a clustered bar chart, which allows side-by-side comparison of sales for each product in a specific month.

4.   Enter Sales Data for One Month:

o    Enter data for January, using one bar per product. Enter values and categories in the Excel sheet.
